Kids Ministry

Kids Ministry is important at Life Community Church. From birth to three years of age, babies and toddlers are witnessing the love of Christ from caring church members. Kids ages 4-11 begin service worshiping with the entire family of God and are dismissed for age-appropriate class after worship in song — this is by design. We believe it’s helpful for children’s spiritual formation to watch and hear parents, leaders, and other adults sing, celebrate, lift our hands, kneel in prayer, and join in as participants in corporate worship. This also serves as a way to encourage multi-generational church integration at the earliest stages of life, to, by the grace of God, cultivate long-term connectedness as kids turn to teens.

Young believers are our brothers and sisters too.

We believe Scripture’s command for parents to train children is not only about obedience but about design. Parents have been given a biological bond, combined with a supernatural grace to be the primary spiritual leaders for their children. This affects how we approach kids ministry. We don’t want to just encourage or teach parents to disciple their children, we want to resource them. For kids who attend without parents, we believe God provides a special grace for their situation but He’s also given them a spiritual family, full of fathers and mothers!

Our philosophy is that children can spend 20 minutes worshiping in song with their adult brothers and sisters or with their peers. We don’t believe either way is wrong but for Life Community this is an intentional moment of spiritual formation for kids. We may not always do things exactly like this, but we’ll always be assessing what’s best for the whole family of God!
